An alternative method for using monoethanolamine (MEA) in CO2 separation is developed from the viewpoints of the MEA-CO2 reaction environment and the process of spent sorbent regeneration. The method could be used to considerably reduce energy consumption compared to conventional aqueous MEA processes. MEA-TiO2 (MT) CO2 sorbent is synthesized using pure MEA and a support material, TiO2.

Plus de détailsWhat is titanium dioxide (TiO2)? Titanium dioxide, also known as TiO2, is a common additive in many food, personal care, and other consumer products. Titanium dioxide occurs naturally in minerals [think: rocks]. It is an inactive, insoluble material typically used as a “whitener” and sometimes as an anti-caking agent to prevent products ...
Plus de détailsThe main use of titanium dioxide (TiO2) is as a white powder pigment because of its brightness and very high refractive index. It provides good opacity to products such as paints, coatings, plastics, paper, inks, fibres, food and cosmetics. In particular, high performance grades of TiO2 are finding a growing market in the cosmetics sector.

Plus de détailsIn chemistry, photocatalysis is the acceleration of a photoreaction in the presence of a catalyst. In catalysed photolysis, light is absorbed by an adsorbed substrate. In photogenerated catalysis, the photocatalytic activity (PCA) depends on the ability of the catalyst to create electron–hole pairs, which generate free radicals (e.g. hydroxyl radicals: •OH) able to undergo secondary reactions.
